In fact, it&#8217;s the recommended method of managing files on your account offering better flexibility than File Manager within the <a title=\"Anmeldung am Bedienfeld\" href=\"https:\/\/kb.okra.host\/de\/control-panel\/logging-into-the-control-panel\/\">Bedienfeld<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"logging-in\" >Logging in<\/h2>\n<p>FTP follows the same login as <a title=\"Zugriff auf E-Mail\" href=\"https:\/\/kb.okra.host\/de\/e-mail\/accessing-e-mail\/\">e-mail<\/a> und <a title=\"Zugriff auf das Terminal\" href=\"https:\/\/kb.okra.host\/de\/terminal\/accessing-terminal\/\">Terminal<\/a> services on your account. Your login is of the form:\u00a0<em>username<\/em>@<em>domain<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Hinweis:<\/span> some FTP clients misinterpret @ in the login as a hostname delimiter, common when accessing FTP as a single command, in such circumstances replace @ with #: <em>username<\/em>#<em>domain.<\/em><\/p>\n<h3 id=\"supported-protocols\" >Supported\u00a0protocols<\/h3>\n<p>FTP supports normal, unencrypted communication in addition to Auth TLS (sometimes called &#8220;<em>explicit encryption<\/em>&#8220;). Both use the normal FTP port, 21.<\/p>\n<p>SFTP requires <a title=\"Zugriff auf das Terminal\" href=\"https:\/\/kb.okra.host\/de\/terminal\/accessing-terminal\/\">terminal\u00a0access<\/a> and wraps FTP around a secure terminal session. SCP works similar to SFTP, but only transfers files and nothing more.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"connection-example\" ><strong>Connection example<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Below are connection screen examples in both WinSCP and FlashFXP using the same conditions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Username is <code>myadmin<\/code><\/li>\n<li>Domain is <code>mydomain.com<\/code><\/li>\n<li>FTP login, then, is <code>myadmin@mydomain.com<\/code> oder <code>myadmin#mydomain.com<\/code><\/li>\n<li>FTP password is the same password used to sign into the control panel (<a title=\"Resetting your password\" href=\"https:\/\/kb.okra.host\/de\/control-panel\/resetting-your-password\/\">need a reset<\/a>?)<\/li>\n<li>FTP port is <code>21<\/code><\/li>\n<li>FTP protocol is either unencrypted or encrypted using Auth TLS (explicit encryption)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Hinweis:<\/span>\u00a0just now switching\u00a0hosting providers\u00a0to Okra Host? This is a\u00a0normal side-effect of using self-signed certificates on the servers.
