For example, if your domain is\u00a0<em>Beispiel.com<\/em> and your username\u00a0<em>myadmin<\/em>, then the proper e-mail login is <code>myadmin@example.com<\/code>\u00a0und\u00a0<em>not<\/em> <code>myadmin<\/code>.\u00a0Your password is the same password that is used to log into the control panel.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000\"><strong>Warning:<\/strong>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #000000\">3 invalid logins in a 5 minute window will result in an automatic 10 minute blacklist. During this 10 minute window, you will not be able to access the e-mail server. This is a mechanism in place to reduce the likelihood of a successful\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/kb.okra.host\/de\/platform\/handling-a-hijacked-account\/\">brute-force<\/a> attempt on your account.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2 id=\"webmail\" >Accessing via webmail<\/h2>\n<p>Webmail provides a convenient way to access e-mail from any web device. Webmail comes in 3 flavors that are accessible by different URLs and may be <a title=\"Changing webmail locations\" href=\"https:\/\/kb.okra.host\/de\/e-mail\/changing-webmail-locations\/\">changed<\/a> at any time. All of these webmail locations are also accessible within the control panel under\u00a0<strong>Mail<\/strong> &gt;\u00a0<strong>Webmail<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Horde is accessible via http:\/\/horde.<em><\/em>\n<ul>\n<li>Comprehensive mail client with\u00a0address book, reminders, and filtering support<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>SquirrelMail is accessible via http:\/\/mail.<em><\/em>\n<ul>\n<li>Lightweight client suitable for mobile devices<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Roundcube is accessible via http:\/\/roundcube.<em><\/em>\n<ul>\n<li>Lightweight client with a fluid interface<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"accessing-via-desktop\" >Accessing via Desktop<\/h2>\n<p>E-mail will be configured automatically if your desktop client supports <a href=\"http:\/\/technet.microsoft.com\/en-us\/library\/cc539114.aspx\">Autodiscover<\/a>\/<a href=\"https:\/\/developer.mozilla.org\/en-US\/docs\/Mozilla\/Thunderbird\/Autoconfiguration\">Autoconfig<\/a>\u00a0protocol. Only your e-mail address is necessary to for the client to setup incoming mail server, outgoing mail server, and authentication information. Certain e-mail clients like Mail on\u00a0OS X and iPhone do not support third-party automatic configuration, but rather use a <a href=\"https:\/\/developer.apple.com\/library\/ios\/featuredarticles\/iPhoneConfigurationProfileRef\/Introduction\/Introduction.html\">proprietary protocol<\/a>\u00a0und\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/us\/app\/apple-configurator\/id434433123?mt=12\">application<\/a>. Just keep these parameters in mind:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Incoming and outgoing mail server are the same\n<ul>\n<li><strong>mail.<em>yourdomain<\/em><\/strong> wobei\u00a0<em>yourdomain<\/em> is your domain name\n<ul>\n<li>e.g. an e-mail account for apnscp.com would use the mail server mail.apnscp.com<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>IMAP<\/strong> for incoming e-mail server type. IMAP\u00a0allows multiple devices to access your e-mail and synchronize\u00a0what e-mail has been read, replied to, and deleted<\/li>\n<li>Specify port <strong>587<\/strong> for outgoing e-mail\n<ul>\n<li>Port 25 is discouraged, because mail servers relay mail through this port rather than mail clients submitting an e-mail. Likewise, ISPs\u00a0typically restrict access on this port via firewall.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Your login will always be\u00a0<strong><em>user<\/em>@<em>yourdomain<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Your password will always be the <a title=\"Resetting your password\" href=\"https:\/\/kb.okra.host\/de\/control-panel\/resetting-your-password\/\">same password<\/a> used to <a title=\"Anmeldung am Bedienfeld\" href=\"https:\/\/kb.okra.host\/de\/control-panel\/logging-into-the-control-panel\/\">access the control panel<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"still-having-problems-logging-in\" >Still having problems logging in?<\/h2>\n<p>If all of your credentials are correct, and your connection is not being blocked after\u00a03 invalid requests in a 5 minute window, then 1 of 3 issues are to blame:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Invalid password\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Solution:<\/span>\u00a0login to the <a title=\"Anmeldung am Bedienfeld\" href=\"https:\/\/kb.okra.host\/de\/control-panel\/logging-into-the-control-panel\/\">Bedienfeld<\/a>\u00a0as the primary account holder. Visit <strong>Benutzer<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Manage Users<\/strong>. Click the <em>Edit<\/em> action under the\u00a0<strong>Actions<\/strong> column.\u00a0Enter a new password for this user.If you access e-mail as the primary account holder,\u00a0<em>then<\/em> you will be unable to login to the control panel if your password is invalid (e-mail and control panel use the same password source). Reset your password through the control panel <a title=\"Resetting your password\" href=\"https:\/\/kb.okra.host\/de\/control-panel\/resetting-your-password\/\">reset utility<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>User denied IMAP\/POP3 access\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Solution:<\/span> this only happens with secondary users on the account. A user must be privileged to access the e-mail server to receive e-mail. Login to the <a title=\"Anmeldung am Bedienfeld\" href=\"https:\/\/kb.okra.host\/de\/control-panel\/logging-into-the-control-panel\/\">Bedienfeld<\/a>\u00a0as the primary account holder.\n<ol>\n<li>Visit <strong>Benutzer<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Manage Users<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Verify that\u00a0<em>mail<\/em> is not enabled for the user. The <em>mail<\/em> column will be empty.\n<ol>\n<li>If a checkmark is\u00a0present, then the user is accessing with incorrect credentials.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Click the <em>Edit<\/em> action under the\u00a0<strong>Actions<\/strong> column.<\/li>\n<li>Enable\u00a0<strong>E-Mail<\/strong> unter\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">General Service Configuration<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li>If E<strong>-Mail<\/strong> is already enabled, click\u00a0<strong>Advanced<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Verify that &#8220;<em>User may login to IMAP\/POP3 server<\/em>&#8221; is also checked<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Your DNS configuration points to an old provider\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Solution:<\/span>\u00a0try accessing e-mail by the <a title=\"Wie lautet der Name meines Servers?\" href=\"https:\/\/kb.okra.host\/de\/platform\/what-is-my-server-name\/\">server name<\/a>.
